ATV TOUR MARAS MORAY ITINERARY
The tour begins at 6:30 a.m.
Embark on an unforgettable adventure with our Maras Moray ATV Tour, starting with a 7:00 a.m. pick-up from your Cusco hotel. Our friendly and knowledgeable guide will greet you to ensure a comfortable ride.
Upon departure, you’ll settle into our comfortable tour vehicle, ready for a scenic 50-minute drive to the charming community of Cruz Pata. Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Andean landscape, immersing yourself in the region’s natural beauty.
Upon arrival in Cruz Pata, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to get behind the wheel of our powerful ATVs for a thrilling 15-20 minute practice session. Our experienced instructors will guide you and provide safety instructions, ensuring you feel confident and ready for the adventure ahead.
With your newfound ATV skills, we’ll embark on an excursion to Maras Moray, traversing rugged terrain and picturesque trails that wind through the heart of the Andes. Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, and vibrant agricultural fields, offering a truly immersive experience in nature.
Our first stop is the extraordinary archaeological complex of Moray, where you’ll travel back in time to explore ancient agricultural terraces believed to have been used by the Incas for experimental farming. Our expert guide will accompany you on a fascinating tour, sharing insights into the site’s history, its engineering marvels, and its cultural significance.
After exploring Moray, we’ll continue our ATV tour with a moderate descent to the picturesque town of Maras. Nestled in the foothills of the Andes, Maras is famous for its stunning landscape of over 3,000 salt pans, each meticulously maintained by local families for generations.
Here you will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the salt mines, where you will learn about traditional salt extraction methods and the importance of this ancient industry to the local community. As you wander through the labyrinth of shimmering salt terraces, you will be captivated by the beauty and ingenuity of this extraordinary landscape.
At the end of our ATV tour of Maras Moray, we will return to Cruz Pata, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s adventures. From there, our tour van will transport you back to Cusco, arriving around 1:00 p.m. Depending on your preference, we can drop you off at the main square or a nearby location, or provide a private transfer directly to your hotel.
