CHINCHERO: BEGINNING OUR SACRED VALLEY TOUR
Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your respective hotel to start our journey. Our first stop will be the town of Chinchero, famous for its textiles and ceramics. We will visit its colonial church, which contains important paintings dating from the 15th to the 17th century.
MARAS MORAY: “SALT MINES AND INCA LABORATORY”
The next stop will be the circular agricultural terraces of Moray, an experimental agricultural center. We will then head to the Maras Salt Mines, which contain 200 salt ponds from which some of the best salt in the world is still extracted today.
We will proceed to Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a typical restaurant, sampling the unique flavors of this region.
OLLANTAYTAMBO: “LIVING INCA CITY”
After lunch, we will head to Ollantaytambo, known as the living Inca city, where we will visit its military fortress. We will tour this archaeological complex, built to protect the Sacred Valley from potential invaders.
At the end of the tour, we will return to our vehicle and head towards Pisaq.
PISAQ: “BIRD-SHAPED TOWN”
On our way back to Cusco, we will visit the archaeological site of Pisaq, located on top of a steep mountain. We will take a moderate walk through this beautiful archaeological complex, where the majestic “Inti Watana” can be found.
Finally, we will return to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:00 PM. Our transport will take us either to the city center or, if it is a private service, to your respective hotel.
